Ingredients
  • 1 medium head cabbage
  • 1tbsp quick cooking tapioca
  • 3lb whole lean beef brisket
  • 1tsp Ground Allspice
  • 1tsp ground thyme
  • 1/2tsp Black Pepper
  • 1/2tsp salt
  • 1/4tsp ground sage
  • 1/2tsp paprika
  • 1/4cup cold water
  • 2tbsp Dijon Mustard
  • 1tbsp Horseradish
Instructions
  1. Cut cabbage into wedges.
  2. Place wedges in 5-6 quart slow cooker. Sprinkle with tapioca.
  3. Trim excess fat from meat. Place meat on top of cabbage in cooker. Sprinkle with allspice, thyme, pepper, salt, sage, and paprika.
  4. In small bowl, combine water, mustard, and horseradish. Pour over brisket.
  5. Cover and cook on low-heat setting for 8-10 hours or on high-heat setting for 4 to 5-1/2 hours
