A bit of mustard and horseradish add great flavor to this slow-cooked brisket and cabbage

Ingredients
- 1 medium head cabbage
- 1 tbsp quick cooking tapioca
- 3 lb whole lean beef brisket
- 1 tsp Ground Allspice
- 1 tsp ground thyme
- 1/2 tsp Black Pepper
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp ground sage
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- 1/4 cup cold water
- 2 tbsp Dijon Mustard
- 1 tbsp Horseradish
Instructions
- Cut cabbage into wedges.
- Place wedges in 5-6 quart slow cooker. Sprinkle with tapioca.
- Trim excess fat from meat. Place meat on top of cabbage in cooker. Sprinkle with allspice, thyme, pepper, salt, sage, and paprika.
- In small bowl, combine water, mustard, and horseradish. Pour over brisket.
- Cover and cook on low-heat setting for 8-10 hours or on high-heat setting for 4 to 5-1/2 hours
