  • 1 1/2lb flank steak
  • 1/4cup Low Sodium Chicken Broth
  • 3tbsp hoisin sauce
  • 2tbsp Low Sodium Soy Sauce
  • 1 chopped scallion
  • 1tbsp red wine
  • 1/2tsp grated ginger root
  • 2 minced medium garlic cloves
  • Cooking Spray
  1. Trim fat from steak. Score both sides of steak by making shallow cuts at 1″ intervals in diamond pattern.
  2. Place steak in resealable plastic bag and set in shallow baking dish.
  3. In small bowl, whisk broth, hoisin sauce, soy sauce, scallions, wine, ginger, and garlic. Add marinade to plastic bag. Reseal tightly.
  4. Marinate steak in refrigerator for 8 to 24 hours, turning bag occasionally.
  5. Remove meat from refrigerator 30 minutes before cooking. Let stand at room temperature.
  6. Drain steak and pat dry. Discard marinade.
  7. Coat grill with cooking spray. Preheat gas grill at medium-high. Cook steak 4 minutes per side for medium rare, or longer to taste.
  8. Remove from grill. Let steak rest 5 minutes. Thinly slice steak across the grain.

To make a tasty sauce, pour the used marinade into a small saucepan, and simmer over medium-high heat for 5 minutes, stirring frequently. Turn off heat. After slicing the steak, pour the juices into the sauce pan, stir, and heat to a simmer. Off heat, add one tablespoon of butter, stirring to incorporate. Drizzle over sliced steak.
