Ingredients
- 1 1/2 lb flank steak
- 1/4 cup Low Sodium Chicken Broth
- 3 tbsp hoisin sauce
- 2 tbsp Low Sodium Soy Sauce
- 1 chopped scallion
- 1 tbsp red wine
- 1/2 tsp grated ginger root
- 2 minced medium garlic cloves
- Cooking Spray
Instructions
- Trim fat from steak. Score both sides of steak by making shallow cuts at 1" intervals in diamond pattern.
- Place steak in resealable plastic bag and set in shallow baking dish.
- In small bowl, whisk broth, hoisin sauce, soy sauce, scallions, wine, ginger, and garlic. Add marinade to plastic bag. Reseal tightly.
- Marinate steak in refrigerator for 8 to 24 hours, turning bag occasionally.
- Remove meat from refrigerator 30 minutes before cooking. Let stand at room temperature.
- Drain steak and pat dry. Discard marinade.
- Coat grill with cooking spray. Preheat gas grill at medium-high. Cook steak 4 minutes per side for medium rare, or longer to taste.
- Remove from grill. Let steak rest 5 minutes. Thinly slice steak across the grain.

To make a tasty sauce, pour the used marinade into a small saucepan, and simmer over medium-high heat for 5 minutes, stirring frequently. Turn off heat. After slicing the steak, pour the juices into the sauce pan, stir, and heat to a simmer. Off heat, add one tablespoon of butter, stirring to incorporate. Drizzle over sliced steak.
