Summer is the perfect time for this refreshing beverage.
Let’s stir up a pitcher of good old-fashioned lemonade that’s carb and sugar conscious today!
Prep time: 15 minutes
Servings: 8 cups
Ingredients:
- 5 lbs lemons
- 2 cups of water
- 1/4 cup sugar, or honey or 1/4 cup stevia.
-
Cut lemons in half.
-
Juice each lemon through a strainer into a large measuring cup. The lemons should make 2 cups of lemon juice.
-
Pour water into a medium-size saucepan over medium-high heat. Stir in either the sugar, honey or stevia.
-
Continue cooking over heat until sugar is dissolved and the liquid looks clear again.
- To make sugar free lemonade, you can use stevia powder.
- Dissolve 1/4 cup stevia powder in 2 cups water in a saucepan over medium-high heat. Combine this mixture with 2 cups of freshly squeezed lemon juice.
-
Combine sugar solution with lemon juice. This is a lemonade concentrate.
-
When ready to serve, add water to taste and serve with lots of ice and a sprig of mint!
