Camp Discovery is in its 30th year of design and operation under the sponsorship of the American Diabetes Association. Camp Discovery is held at the Rock Springs 4H Center / WaShunGa Area. The Rock Springs 4H Center / WaShunGa Area provides many of the services for Camp Discovery on a contract basis with the American Diabetes Association.

Camp KA-DI-DA-CA is a special day camp for children that have completed Kindergarden - 2nd grade with diabetes. Campers have the opportunity to swim, hike, play games, make arts and crafts, share feelings, and learn more about diabetes.

The American Diabetes Association’s residential camp program for children with diabetes is held at the Camp Shawnee property which is owned and operated by the Heartland Council of Camp Fire Boys and Girls. Camp offers children with diabetes the opportunity to learn how to enjoy a healthy, active lifestyle while managing their diabetes. Camp also teaches campers that they are not alone and gives parents a needed break from the day to day responsibilities of diabetes management. Camp activities feature swimming, horseback riding, hiking, outdoor skills, tennis and volleyball, basketball, archery, and tons of other fun activities, plus a few surprises! Scholarships are available.
