Ingredients | Makes Servings
2 tsp chipotle peppers in adobo sauce ( equal to 2 to 3 peppers)
45 oz canned great northern beans, unsalted (or Navy beans)
1 large onion , chopped
0.5 cup water
0.25 cup packed brown sugar
0.25 cup molasses
0.25 cup Syrup, pancake, reduced calorie (maple flavored)
2 tbsp Sauce, worcestershire, low sodium
1 tsp dry mustard
1 tsp salt
0.25 tsp black pepper

Directions
1 Preheat the oven to 300 degrees, and finely chop the chipotles.
2 In a 2 quart casserole dish or Dutch oven, stir together the chipotles and the remaining ingredients.
3 Bake, uncovered, for 1 hour.
4 Stir the mixture, and bake for 30 to 60 minutes, or until desired consistency, stirring occasionally (If the mixture becomes dry, stir in water as needed).

  Additional Information
Flavored chipotle peppers are an excellent substitute for bacon in this classic bean recipe.
